Answering questions from reporters in the Oval Office on Wednesday (10/6) local time, moments after signing the Secure America Act, Trump was asked about his birthday gift or wish besides peace in the Middle East. After a brief silence, he answered, ‘Peace for the world!’
This hope echoes his New Year’s resolution for 2026. However, the statement comes amid a series of aggressive US military actions under his administration throughout the year. Despite voicing world peace, 2026 has been a turbulent period for the US military. Last January, US forces successfully captured Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife in a surprise raid.

Last year, on his birthday which coincided with Flag Day, Trump attended a military parade for the US Army’s 250th anniversary, a moment his administration claimed was mere coincidence.
