Donald Trump Claims Iran to Soon Hand Over Uranium Stockpile for Destruction

President Donald Trump has signaled a strong move towards ending nuclear tensions with Iran. In his latest statement, Trump revealed that Tehran would soon hand over its enriched uranium stockpile for destruction.

This critical step is part of a major agreement involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. Trump stated that the nuclear material destruction process could be carried out in two ways: either transported to the United States or conducted on-site in Iran.

“The enriched uranium will be handed over to the United States for removal and destruction, or better still, destroyed on location,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social on Monday, 25 May 2026.

He added that the destruction process would be conducted transparently, with the involvement of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s government and oversight by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) or equivalent bodies to ensure compliance with safety protocols.

This peace signal was reinforced by Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir. During a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing, Munir stated that a deal between Washington and Tehran was on the verge of being finalised.

The meeting took place during Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s official visit to China. According to a China Daily report citing China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan has played an active role as a mediator following Munir’s strategic visit to Tehran last week.

General Munir affirmed Pakistan’s readiness to continue diplomatic efforts to ensure stability in the region. He also expressed hope that China would take a larger role in overseeing the diplomatic process until a binding agreement is reached.
