Donald Trump Buffalo Spared from Eid Sacrifice

An albino buffalo in Bangladesh resembling US President Donald Trump was not slaughtered for the Eid al-Adha ritual on Wednesday, 27 May 2026. The buffalo, weighing approximately 1,500 pounds, went viral on social media due to its resemblance to US President Donald Trump. Its owner named it ‘Donald Trump’ because of its distinctive side-swept blonde mane. According to NBC News, buffalo owner Ziauddin Mridha stated the name ‘Donald Trump’ was given as a symbol of affection and family jest. He explained his sister named it due to the buffalo’s hair resembling Trump’s signature hairstyle. The buffalo was kept at a farm in Narayanganj, near the capital Dhaka, and became a public attraction, drawing crowds eager to see the unique animal up close. Mridha said the albino buffalo was docile and required daily special care, including regular bathing and more frequent feeding than typical buffaloes. Bangladesh’s Interior Minister Salahuddin Ahmed ordered the buffalo not to be sacrificed. The government reportedly will refund the buyer’s money and relocate the animal to Dhaka’s national zoo. A ministry official stated the rescue decision was made at the last minute due to security concerns and high public attention. The buffalo was transferred to Bangladesh’s national zoo on Wednesday local time.
