Corruption suspect Don Ritto was transferred from the Polda Metro Jaya detention centre to the Attorney General’s Office on Friday (17/7). He was seen wearing an orange prison vest over a white t-shirt as he was escorted by officers.

Ritto is a suspect in three corruption cases that also involve former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah. The cases relate to alleged corruption in the coal sector, the management of PT ASABRI, and the steel producer PT Krakatau Steel.

Prior to the handover, Ritto underwent a medical examination at the Polda Metro Jaya medical unit. The transfer included the handover of evidence, specifically cash and gold bars previously seized by investigators.

Ritto’s legal counsel, Handika Hanggowongso, stated earlier that the money confiscated from a money changer in Cipete was intended for a business venture. He claimed the funds were to be used for cooperation in building a port area.

The three corruption cases were initially investigated by the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortas Tipikor) and the Polda Metro Jaya Special Criminal Investigation Directorate before being transferred to the Attorney General’s Office. The investigation is being supervised by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and monitored by a working committee from the House of Representatives Commission III.
