Don Ritto, a suspect in a case of alleged corruption, money laundering, and bribery related to the coal and ASABRI clusters, was officially transferred to the Attorney General’s Office in South Jakarta on Friday (17/7). Based on monitoring, Don Ritto arrived at the AGO’s Bundar Building at around 2.15 p.m. Western Indonesia Time under tight escort. He emerged from a detention vehicle wearing an orange detention vest but remained silent as he walked past a crowd of journalists.
The AGO has issued three new investigation warrants in connection with the alleged corruption and money laundering case that implicates former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah. The Head of the AGO’s Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, explained that the new warrants were a follow-up to the transfer of case files previously handled by the Indonesian National Police.
The three major case clusters now ensnaring the former Jampidsus include alleged corruption and money laundering at PT Krakatau Steel, a coal procurement case for PLN steam power plants that caused a mass blackout, and a corruption and money laundering case related to financial management at PT ASABRI. Prior to the transfer, police investigators had conducted searches at 12 different locations, seizing assets with an estimated total value of Rp536 billion. The findings included 74 kilograms of gold bullion, S$14,083,800, US$4,767,300, and Rp100 million in cash.
