Without disconnections, business receivables will keep rising because bills continue to be generated every month.

Dompu (ANTARA) - Perumda Tirta Rora Dompu, the regional drinking water company in Dompu, West Nusa Tenggara, is restoring its financial and operational performance by overhauling customer data in an effort to curb business receivables of around Rp38 billion.

Acting Director of Perumda Tirta Rora Dompu Didi Wahyudi said reorganising customer data is one of the main steps to control the growth of receivables while improving the company’s financial performance.

“If disconnections are not carried out, business receivables will keep rising because bills continue to be generated every month,” he told ANTARA in Dompu on Thursday.

He explained that the business receivables of around Rp38 billion represent the accumulation of customer bills that had not been collected up to December 2025, based on financial statements audited by an independent public accounting firm.

According to him, the situation was partly influenced by the gap between the number of customers recorded in the administration and the customers actively paying their bills each month.

Previously, the number of registered customers was around 8,200 connections, but only about 1,600 customers were actively making payments.

“For that reason, we are identifying and reorganising customer data to determine which are still active, in arrears, or no longer using the service,” he said.

Didi said the reorganisation process has been underway since he began serving as Acting Director of Perumda Tirta Rora Dompu on 1 July 2025.

The identification results showed that around 3,000 inactive or delinquent customers have had their connections disconnected. The measure was taken to prevent new bills from being generated for customers who no longer use the service.

“This disconnection is to stop the emergence of new accounts in the billing register, so that receivables do not continue to grow administratively,” he said.

After the reorganisation, the number of registered customers as of August 2026 stood at around 5,009 connections. The company is still verifying other customer data to ensure the database matches actual conditions in the field.

Didi explained that the governance improvements are beginning to have an impact on the company’s financial condition. Perumda Tirta Rora Dompu posted a net profit of around Rp79 million in 2025 and no longer has arrears in employee salary payments.

Didi said the achievement is one of the early indicators of recovery after the company previously faced financial pressure.

“The company could previously be said to have been acutely ill; now it has emerged from that condition. Financial administration is far better, including the alignment between budget use and the targets achieved,” he said.

He noted that Perumda Tirta Rora Dompu’s 2025 financial statements received an unqualified opinion based on an audit by an independent public accounting firm.

The audit covered institutional aspects, company performance, financial management, as well as financial administration and accountability.

Currently, 49 employees of Perumda Tirta Rora Dompu receive their full salaries every month. The company has also begun implementing a performance-based payroll mechanism.

In addition to improving finances and customer data, Perumda Tirta Rora Dompu is also optimising its drinking water supply system to increase capacity and service quality.

The company is working with a consultant team from the NTB Provincial Building, Infrastructure and Area Planning Office to identify, evaluate and optimise the drinking water supply system.
