The Dompu Regency administration in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) will provide free uniforms to new elementary and junior high school students for the 2026-2027 academic year. The initiative, funded by an allocated budget of IDR 800 million, is a flagship programme of the Dompu Regent, Bambang Firdaus.

Head of the Dompu Education, Youth, and Sports Office (Disdikpora), Rifaid, stated that the distribution will commence once the new student admission process is fully completed. “We have to ensure the admission process is finished first, because the recipients are Year 1 primary and Year 7 junior high school students. We need to confirm the exact number of students, their genders, and their clothing sizes,” Rifaid explained on Monday (6/7/2026). He estimated that the uniforms would be distributed around September or October.

Rifaid also issued a stern warning to schools, prohibiting them from selling uniforms to the parents of new students. He stressed that any school found engaging in such practices would face sanctions.
