The Dompu District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari Dompu), West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), destroyed a quantity of evidence and confiscated items from various criminal acts. The evidence included 67.11 grams of narcotics in the form of crystal methamphetamine (sabu), 965 tablets of the prohibited drug tramadol, 13 sharp weapons, and clothing related to sexual crime cases.

The destruction took place in the courtyard of the Kejari Dompu office on Thursday (9/4/2026), attended by Dompu Regent Bambang Firdaus, DPRD Chairman Muttakun, Deputy Chief of Police of Dompu Kompol Tohir, and several other officials.

Evidence such as narcotics and tramadol was destroyed by dissolving it in water and blending it. Meanwhile, the sharp weapons evidence was destroyed by cutting them with an iron-cutting machine, after which they were collected for disposal.

“The destruction of evidence is a routine activity carried out as part of the implementation of one of the main duties and functions of prosecutors to execute court decisions that have gained permanent legal force (inkracht),” said the Head of the Dompu District Prosecutor’s Office, Lusiana Bida.

She explained that the destruction of evidence is also carried out so that seized or confiscated evidence cannot be reused for other criminal acts or even misused again.

“It is destroyed so that it cannot be used again,” she stated.

Dompu Regent Bambang Firdaus said that the government and people of Dompu appreciate the dedication and hard work of the Kejari Dompu in upholding the law, particularly in eradicating narcotics, gambling, illegal logging, and corruption cases.

“This destruction event is concrete evidence of the success of law enforcement. In addition to being a form of justice for victims, this action aims to provide a deterrent effect for perpetrators and a symbol of collective commitment in maintaining regional security stability and development,” said the Regent of Dompu.

On that occasion, Bambang hoped for public awareness to actively participate in maintaining environmental order, increasing legal awareness, social concern, and the courage to report criminal acts to the authorities.

“Through this activity, it is hoped that public trust in the apparatus will increase further. The goal is to realise a Dompu Regency that is free from crime, advanced, prosperous, as well as religious and cultured,” he concluded.
