Dompet Dhuafa received customer charity donations from PT MDS Retailing Tbk during the donation handover event for the Education Scholarship and Student Development Programme at Menara Matahari in Karawaci, Tangerang, on Wednesday, 21 May 2026.

The donations will be channelled through the Youth Excellence Scholarship (YES) programme for education.

The donation handover event represents a collaboration between the corporate sector and philanthropic organisations to support education access for Indonesian youth, particularly final-year high school students preparing to enter state universities.

Izabella Indrawati, Corporate Secretary and Legal Director of PT MDS Retailing Tbk, stated that the customer charity donations reflect the company’s social responsibility, aimed at benefiting Indonesian youth in need of educational access.

“We hope the collected and distributed charity donations will benefit Indonesian youth in need. Stay motivated, never give up, and continue focusing on self-improvement,” she said.

Ahmad Fakhri, Dompet Dhuafa’s Fundraising Manager, explained that the donations will be distributed through the YES programme, a comprehensive scholarship for orphans, the poor, and converts.

He added that the programme focuses not only on educational support but also on motivational guidance, character building, and leadership development for beneficiaries.

“Education is key to breaking the poverty cycle. Some children have the ability and desire but face economic constraints. This programme bridges that gap,” he said.

He added that YES is designed to build students’ confidence to compete and prepare for higher education and future careers.

Yulianti, YES Programme Chair, explained that the initiative currently assists students in preparing for state university entrance via SNBT and UTBK exams.

“The YES scholarship is a comprehensive programme for orphans, the poor, and converts, focusing primarily on preparing them for state universities while fostering character and leadership,” she said.

In addition to academic mentoring, the programme provides psychological and leadership support to help students cope with higher education challenges.

The donation handover event aims to strengthen corporate-philanthropic collaboration in expanding youth education access and creating sustainable social impact.
