Dompet Dhuafa invited journalists from various media outlets to directly observe the community empowerment programmes it operates in the Parung area of Bogor, West Java, in celebration of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah.

One of the programmes visited was an Arab layer chicken farm at Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Jannah. This programme forms part of efforts to strengthen the economy of a beneficiary named Yahya. Currently, the farm houses approximately 250 Arab chickens with average daily egg production of 150 to 160 eggs.

Beyond the livestock sector, Dompet Dhuafa has also developed economic empowerment programmes through culinary ventures. One such initiative is Madina Bakery, a bread production facility that contributes to strengthening the community economy in the Zona Madina area.

Madina Bakery offers various bread and light food products produced by the local community. Its establishment complements Kopi Madaya, a coffee shop established earlier as part of the economic empowerment programme in the area.

Zona Madina itself is an integrated development area managed by Dompet Dhuafa. It features various facilities and programmes, ranging from secondary and higher education to hospitals, mosques, cultural activities, and community economic empowerment initiatives.

With the opening of Madina Bakery, the culinary options in this area have become more diverse whilst strengthening the community-based economic ecosystem that has developed within Zona Madina.
