Dompet Dhuafa Delivers 20,000 Litres of Clean Water and Food Packages to Gaza
As Ramadan 1447 AH/2026 CE begins, Dompet Dhuafa has distributed 20,000 litres of clean water to residents affected by conflict in Khan Younis and Gaza City, Palestine.
Two tank trucks with a combined capacity of 20,000 litres have been deployed to deliver clean water to residents living in refugee shelters, amid an ongoing water crisis affecting the region.
Shofa Qudus, Head of Dompet Dhuafa’s Disaster Management Centre (DMC), stated that the assistance represents a mandate from donations by Indonesian citizens. “Alhamdulillah, on Wednesday, 26 February 2026 local time, our assistance arrived and has been successfully distributed, including through clean water provision,” she said in a statement received by Kompas.com on Friday, 27 February 2026.
“Thank you to all donors. Your goodness transcends borders, bearing witness to love for our brothers and sisters in Gaza,” she added.
Beyond clean water, Shofa noted that Dompet Dhuafa also distributed food packages for breaking fast and pre-dawn meals. Each package contained 350 grams of rice and 100 grams of minced meat.
“In Gaza City, we distributed 500 portions, whilst in Khan Younis 240 portions,” she said.
The distribution event proved deeply emotional, with children and adults queuing enthusiastically with various containers to collect clean water.
The residents’ enthusiasm has motivated Dompet Dhuafa to continue sending essential supplies to Gaza and surrounding areas.
As is well known, Khan Younis and Gaza City continue to face a clean water crisis. The arrival of clean water assistance has helped residents still holding out in refugee shelters meet their needs during Ramadan.
