Dompet Dhuafa and Mowilex Distribute Aid to Victims of Aceh Disaster
Dompet Dhuafa partnered with PT Mowilex Indonesia to distribute humanitarian aid to communities affected by floods and landslides in Sumatra, notably Aceh. About 1,000 Mowilex Kit packages, containing staple foods and hygiene items, were delivered to residents in Bireuen, Langsa and Aceh Tamiang, including isolated villages such as Krueng Simpo and Salah Sirong that remain cut off following the collapse of a connecting bridge in February 2026. The aid was packed in 20-litre pails of Mowilex Emulsion designed for easy distribution and potential reuse, with each package estimated to meet a family’s needs for about a week. Distributions began on Tuesday 3 March from Mowilex’s head office in Daan Mogot, Jakarta, and were transported by land to Sumatra before reaching the affected communities. Niko Safavi, CEO of PT Mowilex Indonesia, said the activity forms part of the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting communities facing hardship. “Since the company was established, Mowilex has grown together with the communities we serve. When people face difficult times, we want to be present with assistance that is relevant and beneficial. We hope this aid can help meet the basic needs of the community during the transition to recovery after the disaster.” Etika Setiawanti, Director Resource Mobilization at Dompet Dhuafa, emphasised that such collaboration is crucial to accelerate recovery and that relief requires long-term multi-party cooperation.
