JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Bill on the Protection of Domestic Workers (RUU PPRT), which has been passed into law, regulates the rights received by domestic workers (PRT). The rights received by domestic workers include wages, working hours, and leave periods provided by the employer. “The wage of the PRT, hereinafter referred to as Wage, is the right of the PRT received as remuneration from the Employer in the form of money and/or other forms in accordance with the Agreement or Employment Contract,” states Article 1 paragraph (12) of the confirmed PPRT Bill draft, Tuesday (21/4/2026). “Leave is the right of the PRT to not come to work and/or not perform domestic work for a certain period based on the Agreement or Employment Contract,” states Article 1 paragraph (15) of the PPRT Bill draft. Furthermore, in Article 15 paragraph (1) of the PPRT Bill draft, domestic workers are entitled to 14 matters, namely: “The wages and religious holiday allowances as referred to in paragraph (1) letter e and letter f are given in accordance with the amount and payment time that has been agreed upon or in accordance with the Employment Contract,” states Article 15 paragraph (2) of the PPRT Bill draft. “Further provisions regarding the amount and payment time of Wages to be agreed upon or contracted as referred to in paragraph (2) are regulated in a Government Regulation,” states Article 15 paragraph (3) of the PPRT Bill draft.
