JAKARTA - The Domestic Workers Protection Bill (RUU PPRT) prohibits Domestic Worker Placement Companies (P3RT) from deducting the wages of domestic workers (PRT). This provision is one of 12 points in the RUU PPRT, which will be enacted as a law by the DPR at a plenary session. “P3RT is prohibited from deducting wages and the like,” stated the Chairman of the DPR’s Legislation Body (Baleg), Bob Hasan, during the Level I decision-making meeting on the RUU PPRT on Monday evening (20/4/2026). In addition, the RUU PPRT stipulates that domestic workers are entitled to social security for health and employment. Furthermore, prospective PRT will receive education and vocational training from the central government, local governments, or P3RT. “The development and supervision of PRT services will be carried out by the central and local governments by empowering RT/RW to prevent violence against PRT,” said Bob, reading one of the points in the RUU PPRT.
