JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The implementation of the Domestic Workers Protection Bill (RUU PPRT) will be closely supervised together with the government through a one-year transition period. “We have all heard that we are given one year so that its implementation is also correct,” said Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, after the DPR’s Legislation Body meeting on Monday (20/4/2026). “And regarding supervision and so on, the DPR and the government have certainly agreed to oversee the running of this law,” he explained. He mentioned that this is good news for the government, especially since it is an aspiration also conveyed by President Prabowo Subianto and various labour unions.
