Domestic worker in Bogor dies after allegedly being scalded with boiling water by colleagues taking turns

A domestic worker (ART) identified as RR (26) died at Kota Wisata Housing Estate in Limusnunggal Village, Cileungsi District, Bogor, West Java. The victim is suspected to have died after being assaulted by three colleagues.

“Cileungsi Police Chief Kompol Edison said on Monday, 1 June 2026 that the incident began when the suspects questioned the disappearance of their employer’s smartwatch charger.”

He stated the incident occurred on Wednesday, 27 May. The victim reportedly claimed ignorance regarding the missing item.

“After the search proved fruitless, one suspect threatened to pour boiling water on the victim,” he added.

The threat was later carried out. That afternoon at around 3:00 PM WIB, all three suspects took the victim to the bathroom.

“Taking turns, they poured boiling water over the victim’s body. The victim was then left behind before being found with severe burns,” he said.

Following the incident, the victim was moved to the domestic workers’ room and given makeshift care. Her condition deteriorated until she was found dead in the room at around 7:30 PM WIB on Saturday, 30 May.

“The case was reported to police. Cileungsi Police Station is currently conducting further investigations to uncover all facts surrounding the incident,” he concluded.
