Domestic Worker Death in Bogor: Legal Counsel Alleges Irregularities, Demands Case Reconstruction

The case of a domestic worker, identified by the initials RR (26), who died in a house in the Kota Wisata area, Cileungsi, Bogor Regency, West Java, is under intense scrutiny. Although the police have named three suspects, the victim’s family, through their legal counsel, believes many facts remain undisclosed and require further investigation. The spotlight is now not only on the alleged abuse that led to the victim’s death but also on various irregularities during the investigation process. The family’s legal counsel has even requested that investigators conduct a new reconstruction after obtaining the autopsy results to ascertain the true chronology of events.

The victim’s legal team explained that Cileungsi Police investigators have named three people as suspects, all of whom have been detained. ‘Currently, the Cileungsi Police criminal investigation unit has named three suspects who have been detained, and on 26 June 2026, a reconstruction involving 33 scenes was conducted,’ said the victim’s legal counsel, Dolan Alwindo Colling, on Sunday, 28 June 2026.

According to his explanation, the reconstruction indicated that the series of events began on 26 May 2026, when the employer’s child, with the initials HO alias Ade, was about to leave for Soekarno-Hatta Airport. At that time, the victim was asked to look for the employer’s smartwatch charger. However, after a search together with three other domestic workers, the item was not found. The family’s legal counsel stated that a day after the unsuccessful search for the charger, the victim allegedly began to suffer physical violence.

‘On 27 May 2026, the victim allegedly suffered acts of abuse from the three suspects. The abuse took place in the employer’s second-floor bedroom. The victim was ordered to undress, leaving only her underwear, was doused with hot water from a water heater, and was hit in the mouth and face with a mosquito repellent bottle,’ Dolan explained. The victim’s suffering reportedly did not end there. The following day, the victim was allegedly subjected to further violence. According to the legal counsel, on 28 May 2026, the victim was struck in the face with a broom handle in the bathroom by one of the suspects.

After enduring this series of abuses, RR’s condition continued to deteriorate. However, the victim reportedly did not receive adequate medical treatment promptly and eventually died on 30 May 2026.
