Domestic Worker Assaulted by Employer in Bogor Over Turning Off Stove While Cooking

An employer identified by the initials OAP (37) has been reported to Bogor District Police for allegedly assaulting a domestic worker identified as FH (21) in Gunung Putri, Bogor Regency. The employer reportedly attacked the victim for turning off the stove while cooking.

“Based on the victim’s statement, it was over a cooking matter. The perpetrator was cooking in the kitchen when the victim accidentally turned off the stove, which caused the perpetrator to become angry and commit violence against the victim. That is according to the victim’s account,” said Head of the Women and Children Protection and Anti-Trafficking Unit (PPA/PPO) at Bogor District Police, Chief Inspector Silfi Adi Putri, on Thursday (19 February 2026).

Silfi said the victim was assaulted by being kicked and punched. The abuse left the victim with injuries to the head, back and hands.

“The perpetrator committed physical violence against the complainant, the victim, who is a domestic worker at the perpetrator’s residence, by means of kicking, pinching and punching,” Silfi said.

“As for the injuries confirmed by the medical examination, there were wounds on the head, ears, hands and also the victim’s back,” she added.

Silfi further stated that the abuse had been carried out by the employer OAP against the victim on a regular basis. The victim claimed the assaults had been occurring for approximately six months.

“Based on the victim’s statement, the abuse has been going on for roughly the last six months. The victim has been working as a domestic worker at the residence for approximately two years,” Silfi said.

The case went viral on social media after reports emerged of the domestic worker FH (21) being subjected to violence by her employer OAP (37) in Gunung Putri, Bogor, West Java. The case is currently under investigation at Bogor District Police.

Silfi said the assault took place on 22 January 2026 and was reported to Bogor District Police the following day.

“The victim, who is also the complainant, Ms FH (21), experienced domestic violence perpetrated by her employer on 22 January 2026,” Silfi told reporters on Thursday (19 February).

“Following the incident, on 23 January 2026, Ms FH, accompanied by her legal counsel, filed a report at Bogor District Police,” she added.
