Domestic Investment in Electronics Sector Intensifies Amid Market Growth
PT BEST, a national company owning the BESTLIFE home electronics brand, has officially begun construction of an air conditioning and washing machine production facility following a groundbreaking ceremony at the Millennium Industrial Estate in Tangerang.
The $10 million investment is a strategic move to expand national manufacturing capacity and bolster Indonesia’s electronics industry amid rising domestic demand and sector growth.
In the first phase, PT BEST will build a facility on approximately 1.5 hectares dedicated to air conditioning and washing machine production, featuring modern quality standards and integrated manufacturing efficiency.
All investment comes from PT BEST as a domestic investment company, demonstrating its commitment to strengthening domestic industry and reducing reliance on imported products.
Director Andy Arif Widjaja stated the production facility is part of the company’s long-term strategy to build a strong, sustainable industry competitive at national and regional levels.
“We see Indonesia has significant potential as a base for electronics industry growth. Through this investment, PT BEST aims to make tangible contributions not only through products but also through technology development, human resources, and the national industrial ecosystem,” he said in a written statement received on Tuesday (26 May).
Beyond production capacity, PT BEST’s industrial zone will develop into a technology and industry competence hub, including an R&D Centre for product development and innovation, a Training Centre for technicians and skilled workers, and an integrated Competency Testing Centre (TUK) with LSP to enhance national workforce quality.
This aligns with PT BEST’s vision to build an industry focused on workforce quality and national competitiveness, not just production.
PT BEST also thanked the Ministry of Trade, local government, business partners, contractors, suppliers, dealers, and all parties supporting the facility’s construction.
