Domestic car sales growth to slow
JAKARTA: Indonesia's car sales growth will slow this year on
concern that higher interest rates and a weaker rupiah will
dampen demand, an official at a local unit of Japan's Toyota
Motor Corp. said today.
Domestic car sales will probably rise to 540,000 units this
year, an increase of 12 percent, Johnny Darmawan, vice president
at PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, told reporters in
Jakarta.
Last year, domestic car sales rose 36 percent. -- Bloomberg
