The exchange rate of the rupiah against the US dollar briefly reached Rp17,300. The government assesses that the rupiah’s depreciation to Rp17,300 per US dollar is triggered by increasing global pressures that are also shaking currencies in the region. Monitoring by CNBC Indonesia at the Valuta Artha Mas money exchange in ITC Kuningan at 13:40 WIB showed the US dollar selling price at Rp17,280 and buying price at Rp17,350. For the Singapore dollar, the selling price was recorded at Rp13,520 and the buying price at Rp13,575. Nevertheless, the government together with Bank Indonesia will continue to monitor market movements to maintain rupiah stability amid still high volatility. According to Refinitiv data, the rupiah ended trading in the green with an appreciation of 0.52% to the level of Rp17,190/US$ today, Friday (24/4/2026).
