DOID Subsidiary Establishes Integrated Training and Testing Centre in Response to Workforce Readiness Challenges
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT BISA Ruang Nuswantara (BIRU), a subsidiary of PT BUMA Internasional Grup Tbk (DOID), has inaugurated an integrated training centre in Depok, West Java, and a testing centre in Jakarta. This initiative is described as a response to the challenges of workforce readiness in Indonesia, with a training approach aligned with industry needs, competency certification, and access to international job opportunities. The inauguration also marks efforts to expand access to vocational education and skills development, particularly for the younger generation. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate among SMK graduates is recorded at 8.63 per cent, the highest compared to other education levels. In response to this situation, BIRU is introducing an integrated training and certification ecosystem designed to bridge the gap between training and industry requirements, while expanding access to job opportunities, including in international markets such as Japan. Director of BUMA International Group, Iwan Fuad Salim, stated that the inauguration of these facilities is part of the company’s long-term commitment to human resource development. “Through BIRU, we aim to help address the challenges faced by young people who are not in school, employment, or training, by strengthening the linkage between training and the world of work, and opening broader access to job opportunities for Indonesian talent,” said Iwan. The ecosystem built by BIRU combines training, competency preparation, and certification in one platform. This approach is designed to reflect industry conditions and the evolving needs of the job market, both domestically and internationally. The programme facilitates training using cleaning equipment and gear imported from Japan, allowing participants to train with standards close to actual working conditions. Training is provided by certified instructors with a curriculum developed according to Japanese standards. Chief Executive Officer of BIRU, Kanya Stira Sjahrir, stated that this approach aims to strengthen participants’ readiness to enter the workforce.
