Several months ago, I heard a dog howling painfully at dawn. The howling died away into the distance. All my neighbors thought that a car had hit the dog. We were told, however, that this dog had been stolen and taken away in a car. Then in July, my own dog was stolen.

It was 5:15 a.m. and I was ready to go for a walk with my dog. The dog was waiting outside the fence. Suddenly, I heard him howling in pain and I rushed outside. I was too late. A newspaper boy told me someone riding a motorbike had taken my dog.

So, all dog owners beware. Dog thieves are in action early in the morning.
