Dog, guard team up to foil robbery

JAKARTA: A guard foiled a robbery attempt in the wee hours of Friday at a house on Jl. Saidi in Cipete, South Jakarta, by making the house owner's dog bark, which scared away three armed robbers.

Nataliz Hamzah, 48, was asleep on the back of a pickup parked in front of the house when three robbers woke him up.

With a gun pointed at his head, Nataliz was instructed to unlock the gate with a set of keys on a chain attached to his waist.

He resisted and started to scream for help, which made the dog bark violently.

The robbers quickly ran back to their accomplices at the end of the road, leaving Nataliz unharmed. --JP
