Dody Hanggodo Reports Raid on Ministry of Public Works to President Prabowo: I Gave Permission...

Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo has stated that he reported the raid incident within his ministry to President Prabowo Subianto. As is known, investigators recently conducted examinations in several rooms of the ministry.

Dody said that he had given permission to the investigators to access all rooms without exception. This step was taken to ensure the process runs openly.

“I reported it to Mr President, I told Mr President, Sir, I give permission for access to the investigators to enter anyone’s room, so there is no impression of selectivity,” Dody said to journalists at the Ministry of Public Works, South Jakarta, on Friday, 10 April 2026.

He added that the President’s response was not immediate because he was outside Jakarta, but ultimately provided support for the step.

Regarding the raid process, Dody stated that he does not know in detail the items seized or the examination details in each work unit. He also emphasised that he does not want to delve into it because it is already the authority of law enforcement officials.

“I deliberately don’t want to ask for details because I don’t want to get more involved. This is already the domain of law enforcement. So I deliberately don’t want to interfere,” he said.

Based on the information he received, there were several items taken by investigators from the ministry’s environment. However, he does not have a complete report from each unit.

“The data received yesterday, there are 16 items. Mostly notebooks. There’s one PC,” he said.

Dody also mentioned that the raid was carried out in several units, including those related to the Cipta Karya Building and Water Resources. Nevertheless, he did not confirm whether the examination would expand to other units.

He views the ongoing process as part of the mechanism running in supervision and audit. According to him, the process does not need to be interpreted outside the context of law enforcement.

“In my opinion, this is not ‘dirt’. This is a normal process. All work is definitely audited. It’s impossible to suddenly have one without an initial report. It must be from an audit,” he said.

On the other hand, Dody assured that the Ministry of Public Works remains cooperative in meeting the investigators’ needs. He stated that every document required will be provided as requested.
