Doctors Advise Trump to Diet Despite Physical Fitness
The White House has released the results of US President Donald Trump’s physical examination. Despite being in excellent condition, doctors have advised him to lose weight and increase exercise.
“President Trump remains in very good health, with strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function,” said White House physician Sean Barbabella in a letter sourced from CNN Politics on Sunday, 31 May 2026.
“His cognitive and physical performance is excellent. He is fully fit to carry out all duties as Commander-in-Chief and Head of State,” added Dr Barbabella.
During his third visit to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center since taking office last year, he also received routine preventive medical counselling.
“Preventive counselling was provided, including dietary guidance, low-dose aspirin recommendations, increased physical activity, and sustained weight loss,” Barbabella stated in his report.
Prior to the routine medical and dental check-up, Trump shared a brief update on his Truth Social account.
“All checked PERFECTLY,” Trump wrote, emphasising words in capital letters.
A venous valve is not functioning optimally, causing blood to pool. Trump tried compression socks but found the treatment uncomfortable.
“Minor swelling in the lower limbs, with improvement from last year,” the report noted.
Bruising on the president’s hands during his second term was attributed to frequent handshaking. Government officials reportedly used makeup to conceal the marks during public appearances.
Neurological tests showed normal mental status, cranial nerves, motor strength, reflexes, and balance.
Thanks to artificial intelligence, his heart age is estimated to be 14 years younger. He also achieved a perfect score on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment.
