UJUNGPANDANG, South Sulawesi: American World University (AWU)
has bestowed an honorary doctoral degree on Ujungpandang Mayor
Malik B. Masry, Antara reported on Tuesday.

Malik received the doctorate after an oration detailing his
urban development strategy in Singapore on Monday, said Rusli
Kamaruddin, Ujungpandang administration spokesman.

AWU accorded the honor after recognition of the mayor's
success in empowering human resources, and in encouraging third
party participation to speed up urban development in
Ujungpandang, Rusli said. (01)
