The trial concerning allegations of a forged diploma belonging to Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), with defendant Tifauziah Tyassuma, known as Doctor Tifa, at the East Jakarta District Court (PN Jaktim), has entered a new chapter.

It is understood that the panel of judges previously granted the objection, or exception, filed by Tifa.

The judges ruled that the public prosecutor’s indictment was imprecise and vague, and therefore legally void. As a result, the examination of the case could not proceed to the evidentiary stage.

East Jakarta District Court spokesperson Immanuel said the public prosecutors had revised the indictment and had re-submitted the case to the court.

“The case in the name of defendant Tifauziah Tyassuma was re-submitted to the East Jakarta District Court on 28 July 2026, under case number 354/Pid.B/2026/PN Jktim,” Immanuel said when contacted on Wednesday (29 July).

Immanuel said the first hearing would be held on Thursday (6 August) next week. The case will be examined by a panel of judges led by Christina Endarwati, with member judges Rudi Rafli Siregar and Mathilda Chrystina Katarina.

“The first hearing is on Thursday, 6 August 2026,” he said.

Furthermore, Immanuel said the trial over the alleged fake Jokowi diploma would restart from the beginning, namely with the reading of the new indictment.

“Yes, the trial will begin with the reading of the new indictment. The trial starts from the beginning,” he said.
