Tifauzia Tyassuma, also known as Dr Tifa, attended her first trial for alleged defamation and slander related to the authenticity of the diplomas of Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), at the East Jakarta District Court on Thursday, 2 July 2026. Dr Tifa explained that she was accompanied by 25 advocates during the trial. She stressed that no parties were backing her. ‘Everyone is fighting selflessly. We have no backers, our backer is Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala,’ Dr Tifa told reporters at the East Jakarta District Court. Additionally, Dr Tifa expressed confidence that this first hearing would provide a transparent picture of the case she is involved in. ‘So hopefully, 280 million Indonesians can witness easily and transparently, and we will see how a faculty, a legal institution, will proceed in an orderly manner to uphold justice and truth together with all of us, God willing,’ she asserted. It was previously reported that the East Jakarta District Court appointed a panel of judges to handle the special criminal case with Number 301/Pid.Sus/2026/PN Jkt Tim on behalf of the defendant Tifauzia Tyassuma. ‘The Chief Judge of the East Jakarta District Court has appointed a panel of judges to handle this case. Based on the decree, the panel of judges who will lead the trial is Christina Endarwati,’ said East Jakarta District Court Spokesperson Immanuel Tarigan on Friday. The appointment was made by the Chief Judge of the East Jakarta District Court as part of the administrative process and case preparation. He stated that the appointed panel was deemed to have adequate capability and experience in handling various cases. The member judges in Dr Tifa’s trial will be Rudi Rafli Siregar and Mathilda Chrystina Katarina. Furthermore, to support the smooth administration of the trial, the East Jakarta District Court also appointed two substitute clerks, Joyo Supriyanto and Zuliana Maro. He said the determination of the panel of judges also considered aspects of competence, integrity, and the experience of the judges concerned.
