Doctor Tifa Attends First Hearing in Alleged Defamation Case Over Jokowi's Diploma

The defendant in the alleged defamation and slander case regarding the authenticity of the diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo, Tifauzia Tyassuma or Doctor Tifa, underwent her first trial at the East Jakarta District Court on Thursday (2/7/2026). The session’s agenda was the reading of the indictment by the public prosecutor. Doctor Tifa was charged with the criminal offences of defamation and slander related to accusations of a fake diploma belonging to the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. Her statements were deemed to have attacked the honour and caused immaterial losses to the complainant.
