Doctor Reveals Wound Conditions of Sukabumi Boy Who Died Allegedly from Stepmother's Abuse
A 12-year-old boy identified as NS in Sukabumi died allegedly from abuse by his stepmother. Jampangkulon Regional Hospital found numerous wounds on the victim’s body.
The paediatric specialist who treated the victim, Sulaiman Arigayota, explained that when the child first arrived, the medical team’s immediate focus was on life-saving efforts through intensive respiratory treatment.
“The patient was brought to the emergency department by his family. Upon initial arrival at the emergency department, we follow the principle of triage assessment — a patient selection system based on the level of emergency. The triage doctor assessed the level of urgency,” Sulaiman said, beginning his explanation of the initial treatment procedures, on Sunday evening (22/2/2026).
“After the triage doctor’s assessment, the patient was transferred to the emergency department doctor, who conducted a medical history interview, physical examination, and checked the patient’s vital signs,” Sulaiman added.
Based on the family’s report and the initial physical examination, the medical team discovered wounds spread across various parts of the victim’s body.
“We then conducted an examination and indeed found several wounds. These wounds came in various forms, ranging from abrasions, bruises, and some wounds that had already partially dried. There were also wounds that appeared to be blistered, resembling burns,” he said.
