Doctor busted for trading porn VCDs

JAKARTA (JP): City police have busted a 60-year-old physician
believed to have produced and sold pirated pornographic VCDs
nationwide, an officer said Tuesday.

From the suspect's warehouse on Jl. Gunung Sahari in Central
Jakarta, police seized thousands of pornographic VCDs, Lt. Col.
Bakat Purwanto, deputy chief of the Jakarta Police detectives,
told media.

The suspect, identified only as Dr. Tse, worked at a nearby
privately run hospital on Jl. Mangga Besar in West Jakarta.

After observing his activities for days, police finally
apprehended him at the warehouse in the late hours of last
Saturday, Bakat said.

The veteran physician was popular among Chinese-Indonesians in
the capital, Bakat said.

"During interrogation, Tse admitted that he had run the
illegal business for four years," the officer said.

His markets included cities like Medan, Bandung, Semarang and
Surabaya and several electronics centers here in Jakarta.
