Doctor: Andrie Yunus Has Been Undergoing Outpatient Treatment Since 16 April
Plastic surgery specialist Parintosa Atmodiwirjo said KontraS activist Andrie Yunus has already been undergoing outpatient treatment. He said Andrie has been undergoing outpatient care since 16 April.
This was conveyed by Parintosa when he was summoned as a military prosecutor’s expert witness in the case of the acid-splash attack at Military Court II-08 Jakarta, on Wednesday (20 May 2026). The four defendants in this case are Defendant I, Sergeant Second Class Edi Sudarko; Defendant II, First Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi; Defendant III, Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetyo; and Defendant IV, First Lieutenant Sami Lakka.
‘Date from 13 March, when the incident occurred, the victim went to hospital. Since then, is he still being treated at the hospital in RSCM or has he gone outpatient?’ asked the defendants’ counsel.
‘Sir AY is outpatient. So he is outpatient; I forget, I must reopen my notes. But the person concerned, when there was a long phase of treatment because his wounds were still wide, then as the wounds narrowed, we allowed outpatient treatment. So the last is that the person comes for subsequent management, for surgery and so on,’ Parintosa replied.
The defence team asked the date Andrie Yunus began outpatient treatment. Parintosa said Andrie began outpatient on 16 April and still routinely attends follow-ups or treatments at RSCM.
‘Discharged on 16 April,’ said Parintosa.
‘16 April outpatient?’ asked the prosecutor.
‘Outpatient,’ replied Parintosa.
Indictment
Earlier, the prosecutor charged four TNI soldiers with pouring acid on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus. The military prosecutor said the defendants carried out the act because they were upset with Andrie.
The prosecutor said the defendants knew Andrie on 16 March 2025 when Andrie entered and interrupted a meeting discussing the revision of the TNI Law held by the DPR at the Fairmont Hotel, South Jakarta. The defendants believed Andrie’s actions had demeaned the TNI institution.
‘With that incident, the defendants believed that Mr Andrie Yunus had demeaned the TNI institution, even trampling on the TNI institution,’ the prosecutor said as he read the indictment.
In short, the defendants sought information about Andrie Yunus’s activities. They divided tasks when carrying out the splash.
The prosecutor charged the four soldiers with violating Article 469(1) subsidiarily to Article 468(1), or Article 467(1) in conjunction with Article 2 in conjunction with Article 20 letter C of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code.
