PT Puradelta Lestari Tbk (DMAS) sees the prospects of industrial estates through 2027 remaining positive, even though relatively high interest rates pose a challenge to the property sector, particularly residential.

DMAS Director and Corporate Secretary Tondy Suwanto believes these conditions will not necessarily dampen demand from the industrial sector, especially for data centre needs. In fact, the weakening of the rupiah is seen as a potentially attractive factor for foreign investors, as it makes the cost of investing in Indonesia relatively more competitive.

“For data centres from foreign investors, this is certainly advantageous for us. We have premium facilities. Even with rising interest rates and other factors, because they need our facilities, they choose Delta Mas. Besides Asia and the USA, there are also several from the domestic market,” said Tondy at the Public Expose Live 2026 event held on Monday (7/9).

Tondy revealed that the Deltamas industrial estate has a number of facilities supporting the operational needs of data centres. One of these is the availability of an adequate electricity supply. Beyond power, DMAS also highlighted infrastructure support in the form of micro fibre optic networks, water availability, and security and surveillance systems within the Deltamas estate.

“We have several things, such as electricity supply, micro fibre optics, and then water availability. Water is managed internally through our own water management. Then there is the security system to provide safety and surveillance across the Deltamas area, particularly for data centres,” he asserted.

However, Tondy added that the prospects for industrial estates through 2027 remain very good. High interest rates are seen more as a challenge for the residential sector, whilst demand from the industrial sector, including data centres, continues to show growth opportunities.

“The outlook through 2027 is still very good, certainly for industrial estates. Although when it comes to interest rates, that is a challenge for residential,” he said.

Furthermore, DMAS believes the weakening rupiah could actually benefit foreign investors requiring data centre facilities in Indonesia. The exchange rate situation makes investment costs relatively cheaper for investors using foreign currency.

“But particularly for data centres, the weaker rupiah actually makes it cheaper for them,” the management said.

With the supporting infrastructure and industrial estate facilities available, DMAS views the business prospects of industrial estates as remaining positive and promising for several years to come.
