DKI yesterday: Sorting waste to illegal parking at Blok M Square sealed
A series of important and interesting events occurred in Jakarta on Monday (11/5), ranging from Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo’s imminent preparation of facilities and infrastructure to support the household waste sorting movement to the sealing of an illegal parking location at Blok M Square.
- Pramono to soon prepare facilities and infrastructure to support waste sorting movement
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo stated that facilities and infrastructure will soon be prepared to support the waste sorting movement in residents’ homes.
“Gradually, of course, the facilities and infrastructure will also be prepared by us,” Pramono said in the East Jakarta area on Monday.
- East Jakarta Environmental Office distributes 2,405 bins to support household waste sorting
The East Jakarta Environmental and Hygiene Sub-District Office (Sudin LH Jaktim) distributed 2,405 waste bins across 10 districts to support the household waste sorting movement.
“The form of support for waste sorting facilities is new waste bins, so a total of 2,405 units have been provided in 10 districts, and they will continue to be added gradually,” said Head of Sudin LH East Jakarta Julius Monangta after inspecting organic waste processing at Kramat Jati Market, East Jakarta, on Monday.
- DKI urges residents to implement clean and healthy living behaviours to avoid hantavirus spread
Head of the DKI Jakarta Health Office Ani Ruspitawati urged the public to implement clean and healthy living behaviours (PHBS) to prevent the spread of hantavirus.
“Wash hands before activities and after activities. Then, if we are in places that may be contaminated or working in dirty places that may have rats, don’t forget to wear a mask, perhaps use other protective equipment,” Ani said when met at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building on Monday.
- Illegal parking location at Blok M Square sealed
The Special Committee (Pansus) on Parking Management of the DKI Jakarta DPRD sealed the illegal parking area at Blok M Square, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, to protect public interests and original regional revenue (PAD).
“The sealing is carried out to protect potential losses to original regional revenue,” said Chairman of the Pansus on Parking Management of the DKI DPRD Jupiter in Jakarta on Monday.
- North Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-District Office handles 2,377 problematic trees through 2026
The North Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-District Office (Sudin Tamhut Jakut) handled 2,377 problematic trees in six local districts during the period from January to April 2026.
“The handling is carried out as a preventive measure against extreme weather and strong winds that could cause trees to fall or branches to break,” said Head of Sudin Tamhut North Jakarta Reina Camelia in Jakarta on Monday.
