The East Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) has closed illegal access to the railway area in Jatinegara following the viral video of a couple allegedly engaging in indecent acts beside the tracks.
“One of the steps taken is to re-secure the gates and walls that serve as entry and exit points to the railway area,” said Head of East Jakarta Satpol PP Muhammadong when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will implement a Motor Vehicle-Free Day (HBKB) on Jalan HR Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, on Sunday, 10 May 2026, from 05:30 to 10:00 WIB, coinciding with the launch of Jakarta’s 499th Birthday (HUT) celebrations.
“For the eastern side of Jalan HR Rasuna Said, the Car-Free Day applies to the segment from the Gembira Junction to the Raya Casablanca Junction. Meanwhile, on the western side, it applies to the segment from the Prof. Dr. Satrio Junction to the Setiabudi Utara Raya Junction,” said Acting Head of the DKI Transportation Agency Ujang Harmawan in Jakarta on Thursday.
DKI KPKP highlights findings of harmful bacteria in plecostomus fish
The DKI Jakarta Food Security, Maritime, and Agriculture Agency (KPKP) has highlighted laboratory research findings on plecostomus fish in several Jakarta waters, which contain bacteria harmful to health.
“Based on laboratory results, plecostomus fish contain pathogens and heavy metal residues that are dangerous to health,” said Head of DKI KPKP Hasudungan A Sidabalok in a webinar themed ‘From River to Literacy’ discussing the plecostomus fish phenomenon in Jakarta waters, in Jakarta on Thursday.
Pramono: Women play a role in reducing the number of slum RW
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that women have played a role in reducing the number of slum Rukun Warga (RW) in Jakarta, from 445 RW in 2017 to 211 RW in 2026.
“The number of slum RW is now 211. Who contributed to that? Jumantik (larvae monitors), PKK (family welfare empowerment), dasa wisma. And these are all spearheaded by women,” he said at Jakarta City Hall on Thursday.
