DKI Yesterday: Cable Tidying to SPAM Regional Regulation Draft
Jakarta (ANTARA) - A series of important and interesting events coloured Jakarta on Monday (13/4), ranging from the tidying of chaotic cables entering the priority programme to the SPAM Regional Regulation Draft being urged to protect low-income communities.
- MRT prepares traffic engineering during construction of space at HI Station
PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) will prepare traffic engineering in connection with the revitalisation work on the area at Bundaran HI Bank Jakarta Station to become a multifunctional space (extended concourse) and a new entrance.
“Traffic engineering management will be carried out on Jalan M.H. Thamrin on the western side in the pavement area. One bicycle lane and part of the main road lane will be occupied by work fences, so the traffic that originally consisted of 1 bicycle lane, 3 regular lanes, and 1 Transjakarta lane will become three mixed traffic lanes,” said Corporate Secretary Division Head of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), Rendy Primartantyo, in his statement on Monday.
- DKI Provincial Government signs MoU with Pariaman to secure rice supply
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Pariaman City Government to secure rice supplies, with the hope that prices will remain stable for the capital’s residents.
“Jakarta does not have land, but it has fiscal capacity. Therefore, Food Station is implementing contract farming with several regions to meet Jakarta’s very large food needs,” said Deputy Governor (Wagub) of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, during a working visit to the RMU (Rice Milling Unit/rice milling machine) in South Pariaman, Pariaman City, West Sumatra, on Monday.
- Pramono hopes Rasuna Said tidying becomes a gift for DKI
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo targets the completion of the Rasuna Said area tidying in South Jakarta by 22 June 2026 to serve as a birthday gift for the capital.
“I hope the target is 22 June, I will inaugurate it as a gift for Jakarta, and it will be something new,” said Pramono at the DKI DPRD Building, on Monday.
- SPAM Regional Regulation Draft urged to protect low-income communities
Almost all political party factions in the DKI DPRD emphasised the importance of protecting low-income communities (MBR) in obtaining affordable drinking water in the Regional Regulation Draft on the Management of the Drinking Water Supply System (Raperda SPAM).
“The tariff structure must provide real protection for low-income communities,” said PKS Faction Member Ismail when reading the general view at the DPRD DKI Jakarta Plenary Meeting in Jakarta, on Monday.
- Pram says tidying chaotic cables has entered the priority programme
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo confirmed that tidying the chaotic cables in the capital has entered the local government’s priority programme.
However, Pramono acknowledged that improving cable infrastructure underground cannot be completed in an instant.
