DKI values Jakarta Fair success as reflection of positive economy

The Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) Office, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo, has assessed that the success of this year’s Jakarta Fair Kemayoran (JFK) reflects Jakarta’s well-maintained economic optimism. The transaction value for the 2026 Jakarta Fair, also known as the Pekan Raya Jakarta (PRJ), reached Rp8.2 trillion, an increase of 12.3 percent from the Rp7.3 trillion recorded in 2025. Meanwhile, the number of visitors rose to 6.1 million people, an increase of approximately 1.7 percent compared to last year’s nearly 6 million visitors. “The high transaction value and number of visitors to the Jakarta Fair show that public purchasing power is maintained, trade activity continues to grow, and MSMEs can become the main drivers of the regional economy,” Ratu said in Jakarta on Wednesday. Furthermore, Jakarta’s macroeconomic performance in the first quarter of 2026 also grew positively by 5.59 percent (year-on-year), contributing 16.67 percent to the national economy. According to Ratu, this data reinforces Jakarta’s position as the largest economic centre at the national level. This year, the Jakarta Fair involved more than 1,800 stands and 2,800 participants, including hundreds of MSME players and industries from various regions in Indonesia. Ratu stated that these results serve as a foundation for the PPKUKM Office to strengthen MSME involvement in future Jakarta Fair events. “We want MSME participation in the Jakarta Fair to open up sustainable business opportunities. Therefore, we will encourage more business meetings between MSMEs and buyers, distributors, investors, and business partners for collaboration,” Ratu explained. Her office will continue post-exhibition guidance through digital marketing training, business capacity enhancement, facilitation of financing access, and expansion of marketing networks. “We hope this assistance can help MSME players develop their businesses while increasing the competitiveness of MSME products in the market,” she said. Ratu also highlighted that next year’s Jakarta Fair will be a special momentum as it coincides with the 500th anniversary of Jakarta City. She therefore assessed that the celebration is an opportunity to present a larger, more innovative Jakarta Fair with an even broader economic impact. “We hope that more Jakarta MSMEs can participate with quality and competitive products. The momentum of Jakarta’s 500th anniversary must be a step to strengthen the position of MSMEs as a pillar of the city’s economy while supporting the realisation of Jakarta as an inclusive, innovative, and competitive global city,” she stated.
