DKI Transportation Agency Prepares Night Transport Services to Anticipate Peak Lebaran Return Flow
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) is preparing Night Transport (Amari) services to support the return flow for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah on Tuesday (24/3/2026).
This service is introduced to anticipate a surge in passengers expected to peak at night.
Head of Dishub DKI Jakarta, Syafrin Liputo, stated that all TransJakarta corridors will operate 24 hours with an increase in the number of fleets.
“Night transport in Jakarta has been prepared. Overall, for these 14 TransJakarta corridors, they will operate 24 hours and the number of operational buses will be increased,” said Syafrin at Kampung Rambutan Terminal on Tuesday.
“So not only the 14 corridors, but also Mikrotrans. Several Mikrotrans, for example in Kampung Rambutan, will also operate 24 hours,” he explained.
Syafrin added that the return flow to Jakarta is showing a significant increase.
A surge in passengers has been recorded at seven terminals, namely Pulogebang Terminal, Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Kalideres Terminal, Tanjung Priok Terminal, Lebak Bulus Terminal, Grogol Terminal, and Muara Angke Terminal.
“For now, from yesterday’s monitoring compared to normal conditions, there has been about an 80 percent increase in the number of passengers,” said Syafrin.
“Therefore, today we see monitoring for passengers heading to Sumatra or Java is also quite high, and similarly, those from outside Jakarta to Jakarta will peak today,” he revealed.
Previously, the return flow at Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Ciracas, East Jakarta, began to appear crowded. The terminal was filled with mudik travellers returning to the capital.
Based on observations at the location, several buses were seen dropping off passengers at the arrival lane.
Several porters were seen offering luggage transport services to newly arrived mudik travellers.
Stationary ojek drivers also offered delivery services, while some other passengers chose to continue their journey using Jakarta LRT or by booking taxis and online ojek.
