Previously, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung planned to add more CFD locations in the capital.
In addition to the usual Sudirman-Thamrin area, Jalan HR Rasuna Said in South Jakarta is now being prepared as a new location.
The plan to designate Rasuna Said as a CFD location will be announced alongside two important events by the Jakarta Provincial Government.
“So tomorrow on the 10th, we will start implementing the Governor’s Instruction that I signed for waste sorting and simultaneously launch the 499th Anniversary, held on Rasuna Said, also marking that Rasuna Said will be prepared as a Car Free Day location like Sudirman-Thamrin,” said Pramono at Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (6/4).
The addition of the CFD location aims to provide more space for sports and recreation for the public.
With the opening of Rasuna Said, it is hoped that residents will no longer crowd only in the Sudirman-Thamrin area on weekends.
Pramono plans to adjust the schedule to allow residents to exercise more maximally and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
“Including the timing, I will announce changes to the Car Free Day hours, and hopefully the people of Jakarta will become even healthier,” said Pramono.
