The number of fatalities from the accident between a Commuter Line train and a long-distance Diesel train (KRD) at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday evening (27/4) has increased to 16 people.
“The information we received today at 11:00 a.m. at Bekasi City Hospital, a woman with initials MC (Mia Citra), aged 25 years, has passed away,” said the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Pol Budi Hermanto, when confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday.

- DKI receives award as the best local government organiser for 2025
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) has received an award as the Best Local Government Organiser for 2025 from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), with a score of 3.6762 and in the high performance category.
“This is the result of collective work by all DKI Jakarta Regional Device Organisations (OPD), so we can maintain this achievement. Hopefully, it can be sustained in the coming years,” said Deputy Governor (Wagub) of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, when receiving the award during the 30th anniversary of Regional Autonomy Day in 2026 at the Ministry of Home Affairs Office, Central Jakarta, on Monday.

- Fire at Mediterania Apartment suspected due to electrical panel short-circuit
The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) stated that the fire that struck one of the buildings at Mediterania Apartment in South Tanjung Duren, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, on Thursday morning was suspected to be caused by an electrical panel short-circuit.
“According to Mr Ajis, the apartment safety officer, there was an electrical short-circuit in the panel on the first floor basement. Then, the fire alarm sounded, and the officers reported it to the nearest fire department,” said the Acting Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta, Isnawa Adji, when confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday.

- DKI’s Environmental Agency transports 164 tons of rubbish from Labour Day event
The DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency (DLH) transported 164 tons of rubbish from the Labour Day (May Day) commemoration activities in the National Monument (Monas) area and others on Friday (1/5).
“The entire Monas area and surroundings have been completed. This is the result of collective work by field officers who have been active since the event started until it finished,” said the Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Dudi Gardesi, in Jakarta on Saturday.

- DKI DPRD officially submits chairman replacement to Ministry of Home Affairs
The DKI Jakarta DPRD has officially sent a proposal for replacing the chairman to the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) after holding a Plenary Meeting to Announce the Replacement of the DPRD Chairman for the remaining term of 2024-2029.
“Therefore, we announce the proposal to replace Mr Khoirudin with Mr Suhud Alynudin as the Candidate Replacement for the DPRD Chairman of DKI Jakarta from the Prosperous Justice Party Faction,” said Deputy Chairman of DPRD, Ima Mahdiah, in Jakarta on Thursday.
