DKI targets Rp46 billion in donations for 2026 PMI Fund Month
The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of DKI Jakarta Province is targeting donations of Rp46 billion for the 2026 PMI Fund Month, as an effort to strengthen public awareness, solidarity and participation in supporting humanitarian services.
“PMI Fund Month is a public awareness movement facilitated by the regional government to support the sustainability of PMI’s humanitarian services. This year’s target is Rp46 billion, an increase of 10 per cent from last year’s collection,” said DKI Jakarta PMI Chairman Beky Mardani in Jakarta on Thursday.
The 2026 PMI Fund Month will run for three months, from 1 September to 30 November 2026, involving all PMI levels at the provincial, city and regency levels.
According to Beky, PMI Fund Month is not merely an organisational agenda, but a momentum to invite the public to take part in various humanitarian efforts.
In addition, public support plays an important role in maintaining PMI’s preparedness, enabling it to provide services quickly, accurately and sustainably to citizens in need.
As a humanitarian organisation, PMI continues to ensure the readiness of its human resources, volunteers, facilities and infrastructure, logistics, and operational needs to face various humanitarian situations.
Support gathered through PMI Fund Month will strengthen various humanitarian services, including disaster preparedness and response, health and social services, volunteer capacity building, and other humanitarian activities.
Furthermore, Beky assured that all public support received will be managed with principles of transparency and accountability. Fund management will be carried out in a targeted and accountable manner.
“Every contribution given is a form of public trust that must be managed with full responsibility and returned in the form of humanitarian services,” said Beky.
The spirit of the 2026 PMI Fund Month is in line with the principle of “from the community, by the community, and back to the community”. Through this activity, he hopes that the awareness of Jakarta residents towards humanitarian action will continue to grow.
“The spirit of awareness among Jakarta residents is expected to grow further and become a collective strength in supporting the sustainability of humanitarian services,” he said.
Meanwhile, Assistant for People’s Welfare of the DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary Ali Maulana Hakim invited all relevant stakeholders in Jakarta to contribute to humanitarian action through PMI Fund Month.
“PMI Fund Month certainly opens opportunities for all elements of society in Jakarta to do good for others. Let us make use of this PMI Fund Month to compete in doing good,” said Ali.
“When there is a fire or natural disaster, PMI DKI Jakarta also moves quickly to help the community,” said Ali.
