Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has stressed that the Draft Regional Regulation on the Implementation of Women’s Protection must reach various forms of violence against women, including physical, sexual, economic, and technology-based violence.

“This draft regulation must cover various forms of violence against women, both physical, psychological, sexual, economic, exploitation, discrimination, and technology-based violence,” said Pramono during the Plenary Meeting at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building on Monday.

Pramono stated that this draft regulation serves as the basis for strengthening integrated services, starting from complaints, assessments, accompaniment, legal services, psychological, health, social rehabilitation, safe houses, repatriation, to social reintegration.

This strengthening will be supported by service procedures, service standards, response times, and periodic evaluations that will be further regulated in implementing regulations.

Pramono emphasised that this draft regulation also regulates the protection of women in special conditions, such as women with disabilities, female heads of households, elderly women, female workers, domestic workers, women with HIV/AIDS, as well as women in disaster situations or social conflicts.

“This draft regulation positions prevention as the primary step, not only in family and community environments, but also in schools, workplaces, public spaces, transportation, and digital spaces. Women’s protection is not just a response to violence, but also an effort to build women’s resilience, independence, and empowerment,” explained Pramono.
