Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Regional Asset Management Agency (BPAD DKI) has identified Gelanggang Olahraga (GOR) Bulungan in South Jakarta as one of the assets that can be optimised to increase economic value without eliminating its function for public activities.

“GOR Bulungan is located in a very strategic spot, so it deserves to be optimised by us,” said the Head of the Business Development, Communication, and Partnership Implementation Unit of the Jakarta Asset Management Centre (UP JAMC), BPAD DKI Jakarta, Imelda, in a podcast on assets in Jakarta on Thursday.

Referring to a study conducted, GOR Bulungan, located at Jalan Kyai Maja Blok F, Kebayoran Baru, near the Blok M area, has the potential to become an integrated sports facility.

There, Bulungan Sports Park could be built, a 12-storey building with sports facilities equipped with additional amenities such as apartments, locations providing food and drink, and multifunctional areas.

” Apartements and F&B are complementary parts of those facilities. However, we are not eliminating the duties and functions of the Youth and Sports Office here,” said Imelda.

Then, Blok S Football Field as Blok S Sport and Wellness Center, GOR and Sunter Lake as Sunter Promenade, GOR Senen as Senen Sports & Lifestyle Hub, and the former Tourism Office building as C-Bloc Mixed Use.

Currently, the DKI Provincial Government is striving to elevate the assets it owns, from what was previously unproductive to productive.

“From being a cost burden, it should become a source of financing, especially able to sustain the asset itself so as not to burden the budget for maintenance and so on. And its commercial value also supports the city’s functions, SMEs, and so forth,” explained Imelda.

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, encourages his staff to utilise regional assets that are not yet optimal or still idle through strategic partnerships with the private sector, one of which is through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) scheme.

This is because the revenue contribution generated from asset management is around five percent or Rp30 trillion, whereas Jakarta’s total assets exceed Rp600 trillion.

According to Rano, this condition shows the great potential of regional assets that can be optimised to strengthen fiscal capacity and support sustainable development.
