Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Road Infrastructure Agency is handling the lifts on the Tapal Kuda Pedestrian Bridge (Tanjung Barat) and Lenteng Agung (Jagakarsa), South Jakarta, as a follow-up to residents’ complaints regarding the matter. “From the inspection results, it can be confirmed that the lift on the Tanjung Barat pedestrian bridge is functioning normally and can be used by the public according to operational hours,” said the Head of Data and Information Centre of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Road Infrastructure Agency, Siti Dinarwenny, when contacted in Jakarta on Monday. Siti stated that the Road Infrastructure Agency has conducted monitoring at the location. This monitoring and repair effort is in response to public complaints about the condition of the pedestrian bridge lifts, which are a necessity for residents. Meanwhile, the lift on the Lenteng Agung pedestrian bridge in South Jakarta is temporarily inoperable due to a damaged part (spare part) that requires replacement. “The procurement of the damaged lift spare part is currently in the ordering process. Repairs will be carried out as soon as the item is available,” she said. The DKI Road Infrastructure Agency has expressed its commitment to providing important accessibility, especially for wheelchair users, the elderly, pregnant women, people with disabilities, and others. The agency also conveys apologies for the inconvenience caused and appreciates the public’s participation and concern for the condition of public facilities, particularly road infrastructure. Based on an Instagram post by @liputanwargajakarta on Sunday afternoon (5/4), the lifts at both locations were reported as non-functional. The facilities appeared neglected, forcing residents to revert to using manual stairs.
