Jakarta — The Deputy Chair of the DKI Jakarta Regional Parliament, Rani Mauliani, has called on the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to provide transparent explanations regarding cuts to holiday allowances (THR) imposed on several contract workers, classified as Other Individual Service Providers (PJLP).

Rani stated that worker complaints concerning sizeable THR deductions, which were imposed without prior socialisation, warrant serious attention. “In principle, worker rights, including those of PJLP employees, must be provided transparently and in accordance with applicable regulations,” said Rani during a confirmation on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

“The lack of socialisation can instead trigger unrest in the field,” Rani added.

Rani also requested that relevant agencies immediately conduct clarification and evaluation regarding the policy. “Whilst ensuring no policy harms PJLP workers,” she said.

She further noted that future communication and socialisation with workers should be conducted clearly to prevent misunderstandings.

Previously, several PJLP workers complained about THR cuts they received ahead of Eid 2026. Some workers reported deductions ranging from 1.5 million to 2 million rupiah. “I received a total deduction of 1.9 million rupiah, I was shocked when the payment came through yesterday,” said Romudin when contacted on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

According to him, whilst there had been deductions in previous years, the amounts were significantly smaller. “In the past, there were cuts too, but normally just hundreds of thousands,” he said.

Similar complaints were raised by Nina (not her real name), who reported her THR was cut by 1.5 million rupiah. Meanwhile, another worker, Putri (not her real name), stated her THR deduction reached 2 million rupiah.
