DKI Provincial Government to Hold CFD on Rasuna Said, Check Schedule and Traffic Engineering
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The HR Rasuna Said Road area in South Jakarta will become a new location for the implementation of Motor Vehicle-Free Day (HBKB) or Car Free Day (CFD) on Sunday (10/5/2026).
The CFD event is being held as part of the proclamation of Jakarta City’s 499th Birthday (HUT). The activity will take place from 05:30 WIB to 10:00 WIB.
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that in the future, the Rasuna Said area is indeed being prepared to become one of the new CFD points like Sudirman-Thamrin.
According to him, the addition of CFD locations is being done so that the public has more choices of open spaces for exercising or engaging in activities with family during the weekend.
In addition to adding locations, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is also opening opportunities to make adjustments to the CFD operating hours in the future.
Pramono hopes that the expansion of the CFD area can make Jakarta residents more active while maximising the utilisation of public spaces in the capital.
During the CFD implementation, vehicle access at several points in the Rasuna Said area will be temporarily restricted. Therefore, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) is preparing a traffic diversion scheme to reduce traffic density around the event location.
Drivers who usually pass through the Kuningan, Setiabudi, to Casablanca areas are advised to adjust their travel routes from the morning. In particular, Jalan HR Rasuna Said is one of the busy corridors connecting South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, to East Jakarta.
The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency also ensures that several alternative routes can still be used by the public during the CFD. This traffic engineering is applied so that vehicle mobility around the road closure area remains smooth and does not cause traffic buildup.
In addition to diverting private vehicles, the public is also advised to utilise public transportation to avoid congestion around the event location.
Several TransJakarta and LRT Jabodebek services are said to continue operating normally during the Rasuna Said CFD implementation.

- Direction from Manggarai to Tanah Abang/Karet
Drivers from the Manggarai direction heading to the Tanah Abang or Karet areas can go through Jalan Sultan Agung, then continue the journey to Jalan Galunggung, enter Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur III and Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur II, then exit towards Jalan RM Margono Djojohadikoesoemo.
