Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will enhance the Jakarta Kini (JAKI) application with a documentation mechanism based on direct image capture in the field. This follows a case of falsified follow-up evidence for public complaints using AI-generated photos in the JAKI app. “In the future, the system will be equipped with a documentation mechanism based on direct image capture in the field, so that every piece of follow-up evidence is taken in real time and has a higher level of validity,” said the Head of the DKI Jakarta Communications, Informatics, and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotik), Budi Awaluddin, in Jakarta on Wednesday. In addition, Budi continued, the system development is also directed towards the ability to detect potential use of AI or other forms of digital manipulation. This step is expected to strengthen the verification process while maintaining data integrity in handling public reports. Regarding the viral case of falsified follow-up evidence for public complaints using AI-generated photos in the JAKI app, Budi expressed appreciation for the public’s concern and active participation in overseeing the quality of public services. Budi said the public can report indications of inappropriate follow-up actions, including suspected AI-based manipulation or other forms of fraud, through the WhatsApp service at 0811-1272-206. Furthermore, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government also invites the public to continue actively participating in city development by submitting reports, aspirations, and feedback through official complaint channels. “Collaboration between the government and the public is key to realising a better and more comfortable Jakarta for all,” Budi stated.
