DKI Provincial Government Targets Completion of Latumenten Flyover Project This Year

The DKI Provincial Government is currently constructing a flyover on Jalan Latumenten. This is a multi-year project undertaken by the Public Works Department, which began at the end of 2025 and is set to be completed this year,” said Assistant for Development and Environmental Living of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretary, Afan Adriansyah Idris, in his statement on Wednesday (29/4/2026).

According to Afan, the construction of this flyover is aimed at addressing issues with at-grade crossings. With the presence of this infrastructure, it is hoped that there will no longer be direct intersections between vehicles and trains at that location.

This step, he said, is also part of the DKI Provincial Government’s ongoing evaluation of several railway crossing points in Jakarta that still pose potential risks.

On the other hand, DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno also emphasised the importance of improving safety at railway crossings, following an accident in the Bekasi area. He assured that the DKI Provincial Government continues to evaluate the existing crossings in Jakarta.

“Jakarta does have several uncovered crossings, but at least there is guarding. This is something that we must continue to evaluate so that similar incidents do not recur,” said Rano.
