Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has reprimanded in writing the Kalisari Subdistrict, which is indicated to have falsified evidence of following up on public complaints by using photos generated by artificial intelligence (AI). “We deeply regret this incident because it tarnishes the good name and performance of the field officers who have so far worked with high dedication and responsiveness,” said the Head of the DKI Jakarta Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotik), Budi Awaluddin, in a statement in Jakarta on Monday. He said he had coordinated with the Government Bureau as the final validator for all complaint follow-ups carried out by Regional Device Organisations (OPD) and Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD). “The Government Bureau acknowledges there was an error in the validation process. To date, no evidence of complaint follow-ups using AI-generated photos has ever been found,” he said. The corrective steps taken by the Provincial Government include re-inputting the public complaint to subsequently direct it to the Transportation Agency as the authority for parking matters. Other efforts include providing specific guidance in the Townhall Meeting regarding handling repeated complaints and coordinating with the Inspectorate to design sanctions for OPD/BUMD proven to have falsified follow-up evidence. Budi emphasised that every report received from the public is an important part of efforts to maintain the quality of public services. Therefore, integrity in every follow-up process is non-negotiable. Previously, a post on a social media account related to a report of illegal parking in the JAKI application, which had been declared completed, was accompanied by a photo suspected to be AI-generated.
